Bio

Chris Andrew Ciulla --- Who the hell is he, and how did he get into my office???

Native of Boston. By day, accomplished student and voted most likely to succeed. By night, a highly successful street urchin.

Graduate of Boston College
Directed several short films, including Jason Takes BC (an unauthorized Friday the 13th series sequel) and Macbeth 1996 (ugh).
These films were so badly panned, he was forced to sign a pact to promise never to direct again, and was begged to instead officially become a thespian (actor).

Employed post-college as both an Aide to a US Congressman (who was a great guy) and a PR director for a State Senator (who was a complete dickhead). Simultaneously was pursuing an amateur boxing career, which was derailed by both a chronic back injury and his father sternly reminding him how terrible a boxer he was.

Studied acting at Collinge-Pickman Studios in Boston under the close eye of acting coach and director Peter Kelley.

Got his start performing with Perfect Monster, a popular Boston-based sketch comedy group. Performed regularly at the Comedy Studio in Harvard Square.

In LA, he continues to study off-and-on with mentor John Kirby (Uta Hagen) and has also learned much from the likes of Richard Portnow, Aaron Speiser, Alan Feinstein, and Chris Berube (improv).

He has landed roles in such films as Southland Tales directed by Rich Kelly (Donnie Darko), Unearthed from Lionsgate, and Underdog from Disney.

In 2007, Chris booked the lead in a Bud Light commercial that ran nationally. It was part of the "Blatant Marketing Ploys" campaign, and can be seen in his acting reel.

He's worked intimately and often with Director/Producer/Comedy Legend Jerry Zucker at his new online comedy venture, www.NationalBanana.com.

In early 2006 Chris landed a recurring role on Hi-Jinks, a hidden camera show for kids on Nickelodeon. It was a live set, so his improvisational skills were fully utilized. He guest starred in 5 episodes (6 segments), and had the pleasure of working with such personalities as Holly Robinson Peete, Evander Holyfield, and Ted McGinley.

He just wrapped a lead role in a pilot called Burlesque Noir. Set around a burlesque show in 1949, Chris plays a young bartender who arrives, curiously, at the right place and at the right time. Without revealing too much, his character has a great arc. The BBC and Bravo are interested.

He can also be seen as the lead male in the Suzanne Vega music video titled, "Frank & Eva". It's airing now on MTV and VH1.

He currently has a Bud Light commercial running nationally.

He's also an experienced stand-up host. Chris produced and hosted his own stand-up comedy show called Comics Anonymous through most of 2006-07.

As an experienced boxer and boxing trainer, he developed a boxing internet show called Stick N' Move with Chris n' Chris. Co-hosted with fellow comedian Chris Strait, Stick N' Move delved into the unfiltered world of boxing - past, present, and future. He starts audio podcasting new episodes of Stick N' Move in April 2008.

Chris threw his sketch hat back into the stage ring last year with The Berubians at the Next Stage Theater where he performed the show "Rocket to Funny" for a six-week run. He followed that with a six-week run of Shakespeare's Best, a compilation of chosen works from The Bard. Chris portrayed Marc Antony, Richard III, and Orlando in As You Like It.

Chris is also a celebrity impersonator, both for the stage and the radio. He has done his Christopher Walken impression on too many occasions to count on sports talk radio segments, and is in negotiations to be a hired voice for the Mancow in the Morning Show (AM Talk based in Chicago).

Other impressions include William Shatner, Chris Hansen of Dateline, Charleston Heston, and Jim Rome among many others.

He's an accomplished Voice Actor as well, and has booked several national and regional radio commercial spots. Chris is currently working on his promo, character, and animation V/O reels.
